House-Hut Estate Agents has won the silver award in the South West region of the prestigious Estate Agent & Letting Agent Awards for 2008 sponsored by the Property Search Group (PSG), Findaproperty.com and supported by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
The South West based agency has collected a regional silver Award at the annual estate agent awards held at the five star Marriott Hotel in Mayfair London which, was attended by 500 guests and is the highlight of the estate agents calendar. The awards were presented by top TV personality Phil Spencer of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location.
On receiving the award Maria Collier Managing Director of House-Hut said “what makes these awards so special is that they are voted for by our customers who have to fill in a detailed questionnaire about the service they have received. It is gratifying to receive recognition for all our hard work – people say being an estate agent is easy, but being a good agent is very hard work. We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us over the past year and who are at the centre of everything we do”.
Jeremy Leaf, Chairman of the RICS Residential Faculty says “being shortlisted or actually winning one of these prestigious awards, which are widely recognised throughout the industry, demonstrates publicly an agent’s commitment to delivering the highest standard of service.”
There are 13 Regional Categories - Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Greater London, East of England, East Midlands, North East England, North West England, Southern, South East England, South West England, West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber. Bradford on Avon After deciding to put our house on the market we contacted all the regional estate agents to compare service levels and rates. Whilst evaluating the 'established' agents we came across House-Hut.com who promised not only lower sales commission but still offered the same service levels. They were a newly started company who claimed to have found a niche in the market; selling your house on the Internet but with the help of an agent - we are as a nation not yet so confident that we are ready to buy & sell houses without the help of a middleman but neither do we want to pay between 2% & 3% of the selling price for the privilege.
House-hut.com did exactly what they promised; we had a steady flow of interested buyers, not just local but from across the UK, instead of the usual burst of activity followed by no or little interest when using traditional agents. We accepted an offer on our property within 12 weeks.
And when complications arose, as they always do, Paul & Maria acted as the middleman / communicator and supported the sales process throughout to completion.
We were one of the first to register with House-hut.com and liked their simple approach - saving us over £5k in the process. When we come to sell in the future we will most definitely be selling through House-hut again.
